Forums - Sony - Sony NOT Learning from PS3 Mistakes - 3D TV Plan Will Fail

Pc gaming is not dying, i think its having a little bit of a resurgence thanks to steam, dragon age origins, boderland,s need for speed shift, cod , are part of a huge resurgence in the pc market

If PC developers were smart, they would abandon hard disc copies and switch to Steam type distribution.  (I think you can even make backups of your Steam games if you want, if I remember correctly.)  The only thing really killing PC gaming is piracy--yes the developers still make money off the games, and probably plenty of it if the game is any good, but piracy is also very frustrating to them when they think about how much MORE they could have made.  MW2 is a prime example.

I don't think PC gaming will ever die, but I definitely don't like the direction it finally went.  Not much is exclusive to the PC anymore.  Everything is on the consoles too, and the consoles are generally cheaper to keep up on.  I really don't miss the graphics superiority of my PC, because there is not a practical way for me to play it on my couch and I got really sick of updating my video cards.  Console games have their moments where they look pretty amazing if you have a decent HDTV.

Around the Network

Agreed i seem to be using my pc more and more for gaming these days which is quite ironic ill be getting mass effect 2 and dragon age, and star craft 2 , diablo 3 whenever that is released !,once these games come, the pc market will be truly be in the spot light again, if these games are released via steam only and with alot of pc love,(ie games developed specifically for pc community)

it will fast track pc development by 5 years, i think people will be prepared to upgrade again, once they see the glut of new games and pc games.
However i feel that pc gaming is being hurt severely by dutch land, china, indonesia, greece, africa, as piracy there is the norm and if they changed to steam, i think pc gaming could quickly over shadow the HD hardcore console market!

This will give more incentives, for console makers to release their console earlier, and be more powerful

3D tv is proven tech, it has never died but its never managed to make it big time by being affordable and being more practical (self contained 3d sets, the glasses wont cut it). its been around since the 1990s and i doubt 3d will fail, as its never bombed, its done consistently well in cinemas it has never been sold for home use this aggressively by so many manufacturers so i think 3d wont fail because its more than one company doing this, there's nvidia, sony, samsung, panasonic, smaller third parties, and the movie industry! i think there is enough muscle to make 3d tv a success.

It will be shoved down the consumers throat, like bluetooth, 3g, DVD, Blue ray and succeed

, i hope sony comes with a proper solution soon, those glasses are fail, it has to be self contained or no dice!

KIYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA NOOB!

3D TV's not too bad, for those who have a TV that's at least 46 inches. And according to this article, the PS3 has already become profitable: http://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=da&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.recordere.dk%2Findhold%2Ftemplates%2Fdesign.aspx%3Farticleid%3D3701%26zoneid%3D5

PS3 Will Be King By 2016.
