Forums - Microsoft - What is the best 360 game for kids to have been released in '09?

What is the best 360 game for children to have been released in 2009 in your opinion?  I'm trying to decide what to get my 11 year old nephew for Christmas and he has a 360.

He is a big UK Wildcats fan so I'm leaning towards the latest version of EA's College basketball game, but is there another good one?

I can't really help you there. I don't know an 11 year old on this planet with a 360 that can't play whatever the hell they want to. I know I sure was when I was 11. What types of games does he have already?

His parents keep a strict eye on him as far as games go. I think he only has Banjo, Sonic, and sports games for his 360.

Ok. Easy enough then.

1. Get him an updated version of his favorites sports games if he doesn't have the newest versions.

or...

2. Get him a Microsoft Points card so he can buy the old Banjos or other great Arcade titles.

holy shit now your pushing it to think of 360 games that targets young audiences

what about Marvel Ultimate Alliance?

other then that i cant really think of games that can appeal to the younger audience that came out in 09, you could always get him some racing games like forza 3?

Are there any models in Forza 3 like some of the car games like Need for Speed have or is it all just about the cars?  If there are any models in it his parents probably wouldn't like it if I bought it for him, but he did enjoy the building aspects of the Banjo game and wanted to know if there was another game like that where you create things.

As far as arcade games go, he's not allowed to put his Wii or 360 on the internet.

My mom is getting him New Super Mario Wii, Zelda:  Spirit Tracks, and Wii Sports Resort for his Nintendo consoles which is why I'm looking to get him a 360 game.

No models in Forza so your all good to go there.

I'm guessing they don't let him play shooters so scratch ODST, L4D2 and MW2 off the list. I've heard Viva Pinata is good if he doesn't have it yet and you can find it cheap. Then theres Rockband or Guitar Hero. Maybe Halo Wars if he likes RTS games although there is some violence in the game but no noticeable blood or anything major. In the end you could just go with Onyxmeths suggestion and just get him the latest release of a sports franchise game that he likes.

The definitive evidence that video games turn people into mass murderers

Okay. Thanks for the suggestions.

Lego Indiana Jones is great, but a 11 years old, he's already too old for it (or at least, he thinks he is).

WWE Smackdown 2010
Batman AA (pretend you didn't know it was so violent!)
Ghostbusters (man on Ghost action!)
or Need For Speed.

i was gonna say banjo but he already has forza, viva pinata is old but good for children, forza is also very fun with no mature content.
