Those that agree with Malstorm's points should never ever read a game review again, ever. Those that disagree can find something less infuriating as a pass time.

I stopped reading videogame magazines and reviews way before reading malstrom's articles.

They were too pathetic to read. It was like listening to 20 clones of the Comic Book Guy from The simpsons with lots of homphobic jokes and Nintendo insults. Not to mention they started to use the terms "Hardcore" and "Casual" as we know them nowadays. There are many reasons to despise them.

He's the only person in the mental asylum that is the game industry that makes sense.

People don't like the way he writes? oh boo hoo.

He is right. I know it. You know it. Who cares if he doesn't uses flowers and candies to talk. And yes there are things that I don't agree with him fully but when is about the pathetic game industry and their croonies (game reviewers, analysts, god-like cry-babies developers) he's 100% right.

This generation of gaming has showed how screwed gaming has become. Is good to hear somebody to have his feet on the ground. And I don't give a damn if he talks pretty or not.Focus on the message, not the messenger.

Maelstrom isn't a member of the industry.

He's some dude that rants on a blog and somehow managed to garner a following through it ( which isn't surprising, history is full of madmen that managed to garner followers).

Typical

You totally disregard his points by calling him a mad man? Did you use every brain cell to come up with that point?

Damn you are so right Ail!! He is not part of the industry!!

Otherwise he will keep shouting that Nintendo MOST go HD or that he is always doooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooomed or that Wii sports and Wii fit are "nongames" or that Hideo Kojima is a genious or that wii users are morons because they don't bought the mega hardcore Madworld and Dead space: the interactive animated movie or that Nintendo shouldn't go to E3 or that Nintendo "needs" the 3d parties to survive..

Thanks for the clarification!

And yes he is a "madman"...but GAMING NEEDS MORE MADMEN LIKE HIM and less Pachters clones spitting nonsense. He may be a madman but he makes waay more sense that any other analyst out there.

As much as I'd like him to be more reasonable, we do need a counter to all the Nintendo resentment of the gaming press.

Indeed!

^^
Does really Nintendo need him? He still makes good points, but recently, since Nintendo started to keep doing well, but not following what he theorizes, is becoming from irritating to pathetic.
His worst trait is that he sticks to his favourite theories like a marxist, while obviously Nintendo execs, like every good capitalist that doesn't wanna become extinct, don't fear betraying every theory to adapt to reality. What made fail marxism since the beginning (as capitalism was already changing and becoming different from what he just wrote as Marx ink was still drying) and recently Malstrom too, is that reality, including economy, is darwinist, not marxist.

Not Nintendo, the gaming press. If they are going to be jerks on one side, he's going to be a jerk on the other until some people get sick of them and start to normalize things.

Ah, OK, this makes more sense, but a gaming press and analysis system that reaches an unstable balance putting Malstrom and, for example, Pachter on the opposite pans of the scale gives me a little bit of seasickness
However, Malstrom sent on earth to disrupt the press makes me like him a little more!

Or you could just call them all bastards and ignore everyone. It's worked well for me over the past few years. I don't see the point in accepting one asshole just because they are the antithesis to another asshole on the other side. I find it perfectly acceptable to despise both Rush Limbaugh and Ariana Huffington.

What makes you think I meant myself? I wasn't using first person in that comment you quoted. Note the words "other people". Your metaphor forgets there are those who listen to them blindly, but that the more reasonable of their listeners now realize how stupid the whole thing is. That's what should happen here.

Why does one of the greatest games ever to grace the Wii even need to be justified?
