Forums - Microsoft - Should I wait to purchase an Xbox 360 until it is launched with Natal?

I have games purchased that I play on my roommate's Xbox 360, and have been itching to get my own once the pricecut came. This is the first generation that I have not jumped onboard early, and the pricepoint is good now for me. However, I feel like I am a little too close to another expected pricecut in fall of 2010, to go along with Natal coming installed on purchase. Now, I don't think Natal is going to be nearly as groundbreaking as Microsoft thinks it will be, but I would be entirely pissed off if I miss out on a significantly better value purchase. I can't wait until Reach comes either. I'm probably going to finally pick up a Wii around late 2010 as well when Nintendo finally releases a black one.

There are some really great bundles out for the holiday season. The value of one of these bundles may equal or exceed the value of a Natal system fresh on the market. I absolutely love my systems, but my 360 with Live is by far my favorite.

Your financial situation is your own, however, if I had the choice, I would already own one of those amazing MW2 Bundles that come with an extra game, controller, and larger HD.....but that's me.

Just buy an Arcade off E-bay for $120-$130 and then resell it if they introduce a 360+Natal pack in.

I would wait. I have a strong feeling that the relaunch is Nov 2010 with Natal standalones selling alongside the Xbox 360+ (saw a job description a while back on a MS developer's resume site for this and it was swiftly taken down.)

yes

The amount of money you'd save by waiting until Fall 2010 is probably $50. It comes down to a simple question. Are you willing to spend the equivalent of $0.14 per day extra between now and then in order to get that Xbox 360 now, as opposed to next year.

Well if you want a really good value why not wait a few more years and then I'm sure the prices will be even more attractive. If this is how you approach your purchases then you are always going to be in limbo waiting for the next "good deal". Don't get me wrong, I like a good deal as much as the next guy but I'm not gonna wait 4 years after the nextbox comes out just to get a good price.
Just curious, has it been strictly the price that has caused you to wait so long or have you not wanted to be an early adopter? If it's the latter then you will be in the same boat with Natal. I say go ahead and get an Arcade and never look back, I doubt you'll be that pissed off when all the while you'll be able to be playing all those games on your own 360.
And +1 about the MW2 bundle.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

yes so the ps3 can gain 1 more unit on the 360. Seriously though its up to you.

RROD really pushed it off more than anything. I'm the type of guy that would drive to Microsoft headquarters and throw my console in one of their windows if it happened to me. I play way less than I used to also, and all the f'ing cheaters and shit talking 12 year olds on Halo really get irritating after a while.
