popular music disappoints me... it's kinda sad what kind of 'music' dominates the charts these days.

Everyone that is in the top 10 deserves to be there. Even Miley, even if she sold her album for 5 dollars on Black Friday... Which would explain her album increasing by like 100,000.

I respectfully disagree.

Okay fair enough. Can I know who?

Can you know who? Who doesn't deserve to be there? None of them do.

I think all of them do.. especially Taylor, GaGa, Rihanna and Carrie. Who do you think should be there?

Reputation proceeds me, they told you I'm crazy, I swear I don't love the drama it loves me <3

BUY TAYLOR'S NEW ALBUM REPUTATION!!

There are much better musicians out there then that group, I find the kind of music that is popular to day to be generally pretty terrible with few exceptions (obviously there are some artists out there that are very very good and popular, but for the most part I can't stand todays popular music.) Taylor, GaGa, Rihanna and Carrie to me are all pretty bad, they can sing, wow, the music is bad, lyrics worse, they're all to comercial and lacks any real artistic presence.

The only artist on that list that I like is MJ. The rest are pretty generic.

Interesting list though.

Then those better musicians need to change their styles... cause they aren't selling then. Here is what I believe with Taylor, Carrie, GaGa and Rihanna.

Taylor - Musical genius. She can sing write and produce. She has it all. She's a class act

GaGa - Madonna of 2009. She was born to be famous

Carrie - One of the best vocalists out there today and one of the htotest selling country acts. Fastest selling country debut album ever. She will be around forever.

Rihanna - She's like 2009's Dianna Ross. She is a born star too.

infact all 4 of those ladies are born stars.

Not only pop acts reach the top of the charts. Infact pop isn't even the biggest selling genre. Rock still sells far more albums each year.

Maybe if the mainstream media focussed on the genres the sell the most more then the music industry wouldn't be in such a sales decline.

Lucky art isn't about making money. That's what seperates the true artists from that top 10 list there. Taylor Swift is FAR from a musical genius, there is nothing progressive or genius about the simple arrangements her songs are made up of. Madonna was actually a good song writer, and there are plenty of vocalists better the Carrie Underwood, if I want to listen to music just for vocal performance I listen to opera not pop because really, she's a good vocalist compared to pop vocalists and nothing else.

Rock is deff not the highest selling genre. LOLWUT? In fact in 2009 there is only 1 rock album in the top 10 selling albums of the year.

No, the highest selling genre's out there today are R&B, Country and Pop. Don't get me wrong, there are successful Rock artists... but the 3 I listed are goldmines right now.
