And Graces absolutely has to outsell Vesperia now.

Why is that?

Because it would make no sense if the highest rated Tales of game in history, launched on a 9 million userbase in the middle of December will not be able to outsell a one year late port launched on a console with 3.5m userbase.

I agree with this actually...

You do? Isn't this a similar logic to the logic that proclaimed MH Tri a flop despite being the highest selling console game of this generation in Japan? To me this looks like a pre-troll attempt (pre-troll - preparing the ground for later trolling when, as seems to be indicated by preorder numbers, the game sells less than stellar numbers).

[added]Whenever someone brings up the userbase argument, this raises my alarms. As anyone frequenting this site should know quite well, it doesn't matter how much of a user base there is for a console, what matters is their tastes. So if out of 3.5 million PS3 owners 1.5 million love jrpgs, but out of 9 million Wii owners only 1.4 million love jrpgs, then a jrpg should sell slightly better on the PS3.[/added]

Currently Playing: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, Professor Layton and the Curious Village

Anticipating: Xenoblade, The Last Story, Mario Kart 7, Rayman Origins, Zelda SS, Crush3D, Tales of the Abyss 3DS, MGS:Snake Eater 3DS, RE:Revelations, Time Travellers, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, Luigi's Mansion 2, MH TriG, DQ Monsters, Heroes of Ruin

Nice score for Tales of Graces. Can't wait til it comes overseas. Great score for MW2 as well. Would have been very surprised if a "western" game got a perfect haha.

So the 5 million lead the Wii has in Japan means nothing and the Wii audience is not interested much in jRPGs? Okay then, but somehow I doubt that many Wii fans on this forum would agree with you.

I ignore the userbase point, they always try to pull that one.  The Famitsu rating doesn't mean anything either.  But I do agree that ToG should sell better than the year old port that was PS3 Vesperia.  I think it will too.
