Forums - Microsoft - Rumor: E3 and other gaming expos coming to Xbox LIVE?!!

yeah well they had to bash... it's a race to power on both sides not a friendly game... plus once again you have to consider MS approach as a whole with every sides of their different market... XB and XBL is just one piece of their big plans for the future of the company...

I watched E3 in Playstation Home, good to see microsoft is going to create there own
(will also be nice to see this become a full service and see Ps bashers eat humble pie) lol

Wait...E3 had a virtual space in Home?  Wow, that's cool, didn't know that.  I've watched stuff thru XBL, but this doesn't see to be just watch, as you can do that on TV.

yeah, i already posted a video of it.

That's cool, but don't you think it's a bit of a simplification to say that doing any live streaming or creating virtual spaces is copying?

Nope.

Home and Second Life are quite different.

Yes, Home is an extremely stripped down version of it so that it can work on consoles and all the content is created by the game companies, but you cannot tell me that Home wasn't extremely influenced by Second Life.  When Home was announced that was a very common comment, of course, judging by many people in this thread is now it's considered Sony's invention and Microsoft is simply ripping them off.  *rollseyes*

cool, allways good to have more ways to follow these things ^_^

Being influenced by something doesn't make them the same. Case in point, PSN was influenced by LIVE. Are they the same, no. As for what "many" people in the thread think, that's not on me.

I also never replied to one of your posts, and you obviously missed the sarcasm in mine as I was commenting on all the people saying "M$ are just copycats!", you were the one who chose to step in and try and correct me.  I also didn't see you correcting any of the people making the claim that Microsoft are just copying Sony when judging by how people described the Sony E3 Home setup this is clearly not the same thing.

Do I think Home is direct copy of Second Life?  No.  Do I think it was heavily based on Second Life?  Yes, but Sony put their own spin on it....and that was my point, you can find parallels in many things across all the platforms, some of which are clearly influenced by things from the competition, so I think it's highly hypocritical for some people to start pointing fingers and decrying something as an imitation while completely ignoring the fact that what they claiming was copied is in many ways a copy of something else in the first place.

See what I'm saying?
