Even though I don't have an xbox, I would get Alan Wake before I'd get Heavy Rain. I think Alan Wake looks excellent. Heavy Rain just looks slow and boring and it just doesn't appeal to me.

READ. THE. OP.

Don't insult other games, just talk about which one you would buy first and why you like that particular game more.

Holy Fuck. Sorry m'lord.

You asked which one I would get and why. I told you. I wasn't trying to insult the game, just saying why I would buy alan wake first.

@ CGI. I get what you're trying to do with this thread (I think), but you're setting people up to fail to live up to your noble aims.

A thread that is essentially "Game A or Game B: what's your preference and why?" is going to have people respond by comparing their preferred game to the less preferred game as the reason why they are chosing game A or B. People cannot be expected to make a choice between 2 games and explain their choice without commenting on the game they've chosen not to get (or to get at a later date).

For the most part people have done a good job of honouring the intent of your thread. Most posts have been very civil in stating a preference, mostly with thoughtful reasoning, and recognition of the generally high quality of their 2nd choice game.

I think you've done a good job of setting up a thread that brought about civil contributions, even if you occasionally needed to bring people back on topic. The dicussion has been much more respectful that pretty much any other "Game X on PS3 or Game Y on 360" thread you could think of, so well done there. And well done to all the contributors who honoured CGI's purpose by playing nice.
