I just bought GUITAR HERO Metallica for my PS3 and it's awesome!!!

Slightly misleading title aside...is the guitar for Guitar Hero compatible with ROCK BAND?

I've heard different things about the matter so I now turn to the community I trust the most:)

It should, mine work for the 360 for all games, but I think the PS3 is a little different.
