I think that no other game on the PS3 so far have as much potential to score a mega-hit in America as God of War 3. America is the region with the most untapped potential for PS3 growth, and this game, with all the violence and action, is set to tap into the very large American core gamer market that likes blood in video games.

The God of War Collection and the subsequent black friday bundling was a good start for the marketing. It paves the way for people who have no idea what God of War is and makes the market for the 3rd installment bigger. I think they should bundle every PS3 with the collection all the way until March for more exposure.

The problem, however, about marketing this type of game is that you can't really make ads about all that violence. They'll need to tone it down except for the internet perhaps. I wonder what kind of print and TV ads they'll make about this.. I shudder to think that they can possibly put the "tear the sun god's head with your bare hands" scene on TV, but I'm sure that'll sell a lot of copies. I think that they should bite the bullet and be as controversially violent and bloody about the game as they can be.

Well knowing how well the new Sony has been advertising it's products I'll say thery will be advertising it greatly. Although their years marketing budget should go on GT5.
