Forums - General - Your personal album of the year?

So, what is your personal album of the year?

I had a few to choose from but I'd have to settle on Deer Tick's Born on Flag Day. Just an out-fucking-standing album.

I also have to admit that I was really into the Arctic Monkeys' My Propellor for awhile but Deer Tick has been non-stop play for almost six months now.

Likely not a surprise coming from somebody with the username 'pearljammer' but I'd have to go with Pearl Jam's 'Backspacer'.

While it's far from my favourite album of theirs, I found it to be one of the most refreshing. They dropped the whole gloomy atmosphere that had been riddled throughout their past 3-4 albums.

I absolutely loved it.

Oh boy, not a lot of stuff I care about this year. I guess it would be AFI - Crash Love by default and that was a crap album.

Surprisingly:

Miranda Lambert's Revolution, or Glee Vol 1

Green Day - 21st Century Breakdown

A lot, but I'll go with...
'Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix'. Not only incredible, but it's FINALLY getting Phoenix some of the mainstream attention they deserve.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

Bob Dylan, Together Through Life

Never heard a voice sound so ravaged as on this album. It's not his best but it's not too far from it, and even close to the best from him beats out anything else I've heard this year.

Mind you I'm terrible for keeping on top of music - barely listened to any stuff from this year this year except what other people are playing which usually isn't my taste..
