Forums - Gaming - Modern Warfare 2 is not nearly as good as the original Modern Warfare...

I think MW was better then MW2.. by far.. especially the SP and levels.. Attachments and Spec-ops are still great though

Currently playing: MAG, Heavy Rain, Infamous

Getting Plat trophies for: Heavy Rain, Infamous, RE5,  Burnout and GOW collection once I get it.

Well I really like the upgradeable perks, and I think having different killstreaks is more interesting as well. And I'm very glad that martyrdom is a deathstreak perk now (martyrdom in hardcore was just mean). I also feel there's more 'balance' between the weapons, though still not on the level of WaW imo.

I haven't played single player much (maybe 5 missions in?), though I like Spec Ops a LOT. It's perfect for playing with friends who don't have the time to go through an entire campaign with me (though I wish there was also normal co-op)

My main gripes, matchmaking in the new one seems worse. I'm still sick of joining games that are in the last minute, and my team is down 20 kills. They've had enough time to fix that, and it's really upsetting that they didn't. And then the removal of the beginner matchmaking list. Instead, right from the get-go, I had to play with people who had already gotten to prestige mode (I got the game a little later) and knew the maps, and I got schooled. It wasn't fun at all, and I've been working to 'fix' my K/D ratio since (I'm obsessed with K/D ratio)

I've only played CoD MW1 and WaW, but these maps seem to be the worst so far. MW1's maps are far superior imo.

I've actually stopped playing MW2 for the moment. It was fun, but I was disappointed. I always want a good SP campaign and it was pants, really. Just too preposterous for my tastes, unclear and short, short, short.

The MP seems good, although the player count seems a little low for everything that can be going on, but I'm playing AC2 and R&C SP campaigns right now and want to play Uncharted 2 a bit more (SP and MP) before really giving the MP a whirl.

So at least those of you who love MW2 know some fresh meat's heading your way probably late January!

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Single Player - COD4
Online - MW2

IMO both MW and MW2 have crap single player campaigns. They are primarily focused on the online multi-player game modes.

FPS games these days focus mainly on online multi-player modes. The single player campaign are usually very mediocre. FPS games are mainly played online because the single player modes are considered boring and a lack of a challenge to gamers. Human opponents are a lot more tougher to beat than programmed AI in a single player campaign.

An FPS game with a good single player campaign comparable to Bioshock or Half-Life 2 is very rare.

Worst ending in a game ever imo.
I have to say though the spec ops is excellent and gives a lot more value to the game.
