It is simple business. In the PC market MS and Sony have synergistic interests, in the console market they have antagonistic interests. It would be commercially idiotic to let the antagonistic business elements negatively affect the synergistic elements.

Businesses don't wage fanboy wars. Thats only the perception of the games community. And even if they did, it often doesn't affect other sectors of their business. I mean the majority of sony's computer run windows afterall.
