Quality isn't the issue, the issue is that the arcade is clearly seen as the Xbox with fewer features, people will compare the elite and the PS3, most won't include the arcade, because the arcade is clearly the version with less features, as I pointed out earlier features is an important aspect of sales decision, much more than quality.

And yet the Arcade was the reason, to some here, that the 360 would continue to outsell PS3 post-Slim release.

I am curious to see the numbers this week after the sale. Just wondering if most who would have gotten the 360 this past week decided to go ahead and get it during the sale. Though some did say that the sale went on throughout the rest of the week, but I haven't heard of any official word from Wal-mart. If that is the case though, I'll just have to wait till next weeks numbers and see if 360 has a drop, or if the holidays are enough to sustain it at the same level.

Actually, come to think of it, next week numbers are going to most likely be up for all consoles because of Black Friday sales. Damn, next Thursday is going to be very interesting.

You really dont understand consumer and promotion mechanics. A regular sale price cut is not a promotion, because the new price become the normal selling price, so is not a promotion. If its a temporary price cut then it is a promotion. Also, like I said before, you cannot base yourself on a promotional price to extrapolate if the item would sale as well at this regular price. Any items in the world will have good sale when its half price because your getting more than what your spending which is not the case when it is the regular price, even if you pay the same amount.

The persons that was able to purchase the 360 during that promotion paid 99$ and receive a real market value of 199$. Its a big difference from buying at 99$ and receiving a real market value of 99$. What it shows is that, theres always demand for a promotional price. It doesnt shows that there would be more than actual xbox demand if it would become 99$ always. Sure there would probably be a bit more demand, but your being dellusional and show that you have no connaisance on marketing if you think it would reflect the promotion sales.

You said that, Wii is not in the same war than PS3 or 360 because it has a different library. When I said a few post earlier that there was a lot more factors then only price, you reply that it wasnt the case. But when you affirm that it is different for the Wii you take into consideration a factor other than price (game library). You could find a lot of other factors to distinguish PS3 and 360 also.

^Except that's not how we've seen it work, we've seen that lowering the price does result in a boost of sales usually a large boost and is usually followed by a long term effect on sales, so saying that a part time sale will have more effect is not backed up by the facts.

Wrong, I said from the beginning that between PS3 and 360 its price, I stated clearly, if you read, that they had similar libraries so price was the main factor, maybe you just need to actually read what I write before replying.

PS3 has a slight advantage over the xbox 360 library wise, it has more qualaity exclusives like Uncharted, LBP, Killzone, Resistance, Demon Souls, GT, God of war, Ratchet and Clank, need I keep on going on??

They have such a variety in games and it is only growing, you are blind if you can't see the PS3 is growing, and will only continue to do so in the future, this is why, no matter what m$ does it will not affect PS3 sales in the future.

The only thing i can even see making the slightest difference, is if every casual user coverts to xbox 360 when natal comes out, which i cannot see happening, the wii already has caught that audience and i think both the wand and natal will not do as well as m$ or sony wants them to.

^caught me at what? I said quality of the build, that has nothing to do with the arcade, the build is how well the system is built, and yes delivers what they want at the price they can afford, compared to the elite, the arcade doens't deliver what people want.

No there is no advantage in the PS3 library, what the PS3 has, is price parity and because of its extra features its selling better

If you had played on any of the PS3 games you would not be saying that, enjoy missing out on some of the best games this gen, because at least i know i will be getting the best of both worlds.

^ROFL, just because you are a PS3 fan doesn't mean that everyone is, and I have played PS3 and 360 games, haven't enjoyed either, its why I am a Wii owner and not a PS3 and 360 owner, and plenty of people pick 360 every week, so your arguments are flawed.

whereas lots of people pick ps3 over xbox360 currently which is why it is selling more on a world wide basis, just because you hate sony does not mean everyone does.

finally i am not a 100% sony fan otherwise why would i have a wii?? i support other consoles as well, plus i even gave xbox 360 a chance last year, as i was curious as to what all the fuss was, it all turned out to be hype in the end, then only game i actually enjoyed was lost odysee, the rest (fable 2, halo 3 etc) were over hyped and was it an utter dissapointment.
