Forums - Gaming - Anyone else only buying one console in the future?

As a long time Sega fanboy its hard for me to own anything PS related (Dreamcast for life!), but like last generation I will probably break down and pick up a ps3 just like I ended up doing with ps2.  To many great exclusives to pass up now that the console has dropped in price. Even if I get a ps3 I will still probably buy most if not all multiplatform games for 360, ps3 would be just for Uncharted 2, Valkeria Chronicles, Demon Souls ext.

I have never been a huge Nintendo fan (did i mention that I'm a Sega fanboy). Although I do love most Zelda games, which in the past was enough to get me to invest in Nintendo consoles. Played the latest Zelda at a friends and was disappointed. The rest of what the Wii offers just isnt for me so I can't see my self picking one up.

Next generation I will go with Microsoft first because I have enjoyed both the xbox and the 360.

I will always have only 1 console per generation and the winner will always be the one that hits $100 1st. The reason is similar to others comments, I still have 2 PS1 games and about 12 PS2 games that I have yet to even unwrap and they are all great games. The market is saturated with great games across all platforms and the PC is pretty much a requirement for me thus the consoles will always take a back seat.

This generation, the winner was the Xbox360 thanks to the Amazon/Walmart sales a few weeks back. I picked up a used 20gb drive for $15 for giggles (I doubt I will ever use it because I am primarily a PC gamer) and now I await Black Friday & Christmas to stock up on games. So far I will be picking up Forza 2, Madden 09, Lost Odyssey, Civilizations Rev, and some Castlevania and I am hoping that I will be able to get them all for less than $100. Yea I am one of those cheap rich guys ;-p Then again, this is why I am rich I guess.

I agree, every month twice as many games release as I can afford to buy and have time to play just on the Wii.

Nintendo and Sony. Never again Microsoft.

every gen

well I had the genesis, snes, ps1, n64, dreamcast, ps2, xbox, and gamecube. This gen though I only have 360 and wii. FF and like rpgs was my main reason for buying Sony consoles. No reason to buy a ps3 as ff13 is coming to 360 too. Most rpgs are going to the DS.

Next gen I'll probably just get a Nintendo console but only if graphics are on par with the competition.

well need my nintendo games so....it depends on third party support really...

I've only ever bought one console per generation and I don't see that changing. It's possible PS3 will be my last console ever, though with 2 pre-teen boys in the house who both like gaming I think we will be in to next generation, but after that they will probably be off to university or on their big OE so next gen is more likely to be my last.

next xbox. i loved my ps1 and hated ps2 and ps3. i was MIA for 6-8 years and then the xbox 360 made me want to game again so i will always be thankful for microsoft.

I don't see the point to owning multiple platforms. I have PS360 and my family has a Wii; and basically I only play PS3.
