Originally a Japanese arcade game series, on PS2 as well. It's a rhythm game made by Konami, whom Harmonix of Guitar Hero fame pays licensing fees to for using a musical instrument gaming peripheral. This in addition to the style of game where you match keypresses to music. Anyway it came out for ps2 over a decade ago(in Japan), and the one version the USA received came out in 2006 just titled Beatmania. I thought I'd share the game with anyone who hadn't heard of it before, uber replay value and difficulty... which I guess makes it more rewarding to become proficient at.

I had a few of the Beatmania games with a DJ-DAO custom controller, it was great fun but the resale money was too tempting. It makes me wonder if Konami could have pushed this in the west alongside Guitar Freaks and then they would be raking in all the money.

its the song choices, nobody would want to play songs they dont know

the difficulty might be a problem for some people, but i got used to the basic gameplay pretty quick... took like a week or two

Such a great game. I wish they had the games over here. Or at least sold the controllers over here. =\
