I just have a question I'd like some of you to answer. It deals with a debate I've been having of late. And just so biases don't enter the equation, I will keep it generalized. Though it is general to begin with.
Ok. Say you go out and buy a peice of equipment that ranges from $200-$1000 or more. Keep in mind it could be a console, a computer, or even a complex peice of software. If in a few weeks or months it asks you to update the firmware or the software, would you do it? Or would you just go out and buy a new product with all the new updates already applied to it?
I'm of the position that most, if not all, would just upgrade. However, another individual seems to believe that most would go out and rebuy the product if it already had the updates applied, since we live in a "disposable" world and people would be afraid of the update crashing their system.
So what do you guys think? To upgrade or not to upgrade? To rebuy or not to rebuy?
And sorry for the stupid question on my first ever thread. But I guess you got to pop your forum cherry somehow. And, hey, it could be worse, I could just be posting some mindless garbage like "I LOVE X CONSOLE, BUT Y SUX!!!"
