I'm in the beta right now for MAG and it is nowhere near as good as modern warfare. You can't even tell you are in a map with 256 people. It is too spread out, objectives are too simple. Gameplay doesn't really innovate anything.

It will be a good game, don't get me wrong, but it isn't in the same league as MW2.

I don't understand... Do you have to be able to tell that you are in a map with 256 people for it to have effect on the game? No, not really. Even though you can't see them, things still happen. Maybe objectives are a bit simple in MAG, but MW doesn't even have objectives besides the MP mode, so how can it be better than MAG in this department? MAG gameplay doesn't really innovate anything, ok maybe not. Still in your eyes, a rushed and milked FPS with run and gun gameplay for every noob to master, with almost no skill involved what so ever, showing NO INNOVATION AT ALL and actually taking several steps backwards compared to old FPSs in both gameplay and features (like dedi servers) is the better game.... I'm baffled

I am in the MAG beta as well, and I rarely do play. However, in my mind there is no question which is the better game. Popularity and sales does not necessarily make a good game or product. If it did, McDonalds would be considered the best food on the market, Backstreet Boys would be considered as great musicians or the newest Indiana Jones movie would be considered good. neither of these products can be considered as quality, yet they sell (sold) like crazy

Just to clarify a few things, check out the bolded sections. You're actually saying there that neither is innovative, which puts them on equal standing.

Secondly, MW2 has a ton of objective based multiplayer modes, objective based co-op and even objective based single player at times.. I'm not really sure which game you're playing. There's six objective based game modes; Domination, Demolition, Sabotage, Headquarters, Capture the Flag and Search & Destroy. So which part of MW doesn't have objectives?

Thirdly, there's no way to tell whether McDonalds, the Backstreet Boys and Indiana Jones are or aren't the best of their respective categories, and there's no way to tell whether they are or aren't quality. Regarding person taste, any of them can be the best to an individual, and that's as far as they can be judged. Regarding music and movies though, I noticed you went with two choices that aren't the best selling just to prove a point, but it should be noted that the two best selling, Michael Jackson and Titanic are actually considered the best or among the best to very many people.

i dont like any CoD or MW games, but MAG has ugly graphics.

Wasn't there a thread somewhere that talked about a MW2 co-op where they said the maps were to unbalances and that the top teams were getting bored of it?

eh...I like to play FPS on pc so MAG isn't my thing. Though, I hope it doesn't turn out like R2 32vs32 player modes which would turn into a chaotic bloodbath

Not for me, because I am more of a single player gamer, and on MP I'm pretty much a deathmatch guy (eh, what can I say, I used to do LAN parties with Unreal Tournament 10 years ago). I bet a lot of people will enjoy the heck out of it though, and of course you're going to have the people who think that any exclusive to their preferred system are better than non-exclusives. So I guess it really depends on what is important to you.

Amen

in the games where everyone cooperates its an amazing experience other times all you can do is sit back and try not to get shot.

Typically, if a game has a unique selling point, it would be good if it added to the overall feel of the game. Otherwise it's not much of a selling point.

I hope it turns into chaotic bloodbath in TDM  but they keep the objective modes organized. The chaotic TDM atmosphere in R2 is what makes it fun and mind you, the objective modes in R2 are not chaotic

I'm not sure what all the buzz about MAG is. I remember playing Tribes 1 (modded servers of course) with 128 vs 128, or Tribes 2 with 256 vs 256. So this whole large-scale battle thing isn't anything new. Or Planetside, which was pretty cool, but the cool part was from the sci-fi based technology and the capture and hold based persistent game play at a large scale.

I'm actually getting a PS3 soon (Very cheap, 100-150$ barely used, older model though) and this game isn't even closely on my list yet.
