Only people who have a PS3 and who want to use it on their PS3 will care about the point of the facebook part of the FW update. The main point for Sony, of course, is to negate the 360's point of difference selling point wrt facebook, because the ability to access facebook like you do on a regular PC was clearly not equivalent enough.

I may actually be the only person who thought the friend list was at least mildly attractive. It also helps out if you have a really bright background.

There is no point to it. PS3 has a web browser. From what I've heard it's gooood too. :)
