Forums - General - Buying 55" LCD help?

I really need some expert help or some people with knowledge of LCD TV's.

So I am planning on getting a 55" for my Living room. I pretty nooby at TV's so I need all the help I can get. I'm sort of looking for a "budget" priced TV. Looking for something under ~$1700 range, cheaper the better.

Here's some TV's I've been looking at.

The Vizio I can get for about $1,299.99 at Costco on Black Friday. Not sure if I should get it though.

Thanks ahead of time for your guys input. Suggestions for TV's would really help.

I don't trust cheepo brands with higher tech hardware. For the budget you have and size you want just go buy a plasma.

I got a 58" Samsung plasma, it kills my lcd in every way.

Why are you set on a budget 55" TV?

For $1700 you get get an incredible 40-something inch TV.

A 55" fits perfectly in my living room. Also haven't you heard my in the news lately? I'm basically going in debt and losing all my millions :|.

Nah but really, I'm Asian, I'm cheap :].

I was just thinking a budget quality TV is never as good as a high quality smaller TV. I would much rather have a 44" kick ass TV than a 55" TV that all I can say about it is it's big and it works.

I don't know your room, but a 40-something inch TV still works great and won't look too small.

^ How about he gets the bigger size if that's what he wants? Sheesh.

That Best Buy Sony TV was in the Sunday ad. Good TV, you'd be very happy with it.

Meh, he asked for advice, I gave mine.
