While this is definitely true, she obviously focuses on the hypocrisy of her statements in the beginning of the video. One big difference though is that the catholic church is a singular organization of ridiculous wealth that could potentially end world hunger with it's wealth alone if it wasn't so busy buying staffs made of gold, and building ridiculously ornate buildings for the glory of god.

And these ridiculously ornate buildings help them convince believers, who will donate money. A significant amount of this money is spent on even more gold, and the rest is spent on... charity! The Catholic church runs several significant charity programs, that CONSISTENTLY help the world, with much more money than what they have at any given moment in the Vatican.

Anywho the best way to end world hunger isn't to just dump money into Africa, IMO (from what I've learned in class) its to support them through programs like fair trade where the workers in Africa that pick cocoa/coffee beans get paid a fair wage for their work and can afford food and school, etc. All we're doing is making them dependent on foreign aid when we should be making them independent while still helping them out through programs like this.

Also, this. Currently, the majority of charity money goes directly to dictators and the black market. The system is just not working.
