But they're obviously not totally independent. Think Venn Diagram and its intersecting sections. I for one, am dying for GT5 and FFXIII, and if Sony's smart they best release them a couple weeks apart. GOWIII too, I think, would overlap a good deal with GT5, but probably not with FFXIII as much. Either way, even if sales would be reressed by 15% Sony should seriously reconsider release dates.

I personally believe R&C was a victim of its release date. Whoever said it's got legs, nevermind that. Given the install base difference between now and when ToD released, you can't justify ACiT sales being better. Pity, since this could be the last Ratchet and Clank game ever. If they're not buying it, I hope people are at least gameflying the hell out of it.

God of War is pretty big in America.

GT5 definitely won't release in March (Japan ONLY).

It remains to be seen what will happen between FFXIII and God of war 3.

FFXIII will release on the 9th. If GoW3 releases on the 25th or something, it would be OK.

i think the game has a bad release date for SE,, they should release it in fiscal 2010, one month later, because :

in fiscal 2009 they released (and will release):
- DQ 9 (biggest SE game ever)
- DQ 5
- STAR OCEAN 4 (360)
- FF XIII (japan)
- Star Ocean 4 international (ps3)
- FFXIII (US/EU)
- Kingdom Hearts (DS)
- Kingdom Hearts Birth by sleep

This means that they released in this fiscal their 4 biggest franchises (FF, DQ , KH, SO), and three of those are main games (excluding KH)

How can Fiscal 2010 compare to this fiscal, i mean even if they released FF XIV, Versus XIII, agito XIII,, how can they match the sales of DG 9 and FFXIII alone ???

FF XIII releases in Japan this December,and it will be huge.
By March,the pre-orders will most likely be high.
It also releases on 360.
That being said,Square Enix doesnt really mind releasing in it March,in the same month with GT5,because GoW3 wont be so big,and wont really hurt FF.
Releasing all 3 titles in 1 month on the other hand will boost the hardware like hell,and thats the point of these release dates.
GT5 will sell well no matter what...FF XIII will already have 2 million+ untill March...and GoW 3 already has high pre-orders.
Seems to me like a perfect period for Sony and It's developers.

GT5 won't affect FFXIII, since GT5 only releases in Japan in March. God of War III and FFXIII, on the other hand...well, it's going to be tough competition.

It's DQVI and not V. Star Ocean 360 was released during previous FY. And Star Ocean is not nearly one of their biggest franchises, not to mention that this franchise is dead (SO4 International is its last release)

   As for the next FY, they have Just Cause 2, Kane and Lynch 2, Hitman 5, FFXIV, Versus, Agito, KHBBS (NA/EU), Supreme Commander 2. Solid enough line-up.

Why do people say bad date for GOW3 when it's pre orders> FF13 PS3+360 ?

I'd say FF13 should be delayed till May given the big release coming in March like GOW, Battlefield and Red Dead.
