Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft Disowns Manager For Suggesting That A Mac OS Inspired Windows 7

Poor Microsoft Partner Group Manager Simon Aldous. His Microsoft brethren is calling him uninformed and practically disowning him for the quotes he threw out earlier about Windows 7 basing its UI on the Mac OS.

A post on the Windows Blog entitled " How we really designed the look and feel of Windows 7" renounces Simon's quotes with a curt, yet harsh line:

"I hate to say this about one of our own, but his comments were inaccurate and uninformed."

Youch. That's gonna be a fun day at work tomorrow for ya, Simon. [Windows Blog]

Around the Network

they should pull some jokes on him... like tape his door shut or fill his cubical full of crumbled up paper

i haven't got to use windows 7 in any way but their commercials contains lines like "simpler" and "it just works" which are phrases i've heard used to describe Macs for years now. I wouldn't say MS stole anything but i think it's obvious MS was indeed inspired by Macs rising success.

i mean c'mon, it would be stupid for MS not to realize why people were making transitions from windows to macs. obviously they would want to improve in those areas.

Windows has ALWAYS been based off of the Mac OS. Don't kid yourself. The mac brought the graphical user interface and the mouse into computing (actually they copied, with permission, from Xerox). So this would hardly be a revelation.
