Nintendo doesn't have enough money to sensibly buy any of those 3rd party publishers.

I am positive Nintendo will buy a few 3rd party developers this generation, but publishers are much less likely. (If there is a small publisher that interests Nintendo a lot then maybe...but i can't name many small publishers)

Nintendo should get Hudson. They work on cell phones already. Hudson does Mario Party and put the best marble game on the Wii. Plus, Hudson clearly doesn't have a lot of money to put to its games. Almost all of its titles are low to mid budget but sometimes they are quite creative.

Nintendo should not buy SE. That company should continue to release games on everything.

I could see Sony buying a company if the 3rd parties leave the PS3 to add support to it (but with what money?).

They should buy EA and them close EA forever. The world would be a much better place.

I want to see that announcement.. Dont get mistaken with the japan one though. I still dont think nintendo can buy a 3rd party company. I hope sony does though, that way ps3 sales pick up and we get kingdomhearts on the ps3. Really terrible situation sony is in, I wasnt expecting them to be so low in the console war.

Third-parties make their money by putting games on multiple system. If they get bought out by Sony, MS, or Nintendo they lose about 2/3 of their revenue and a bunch of products get canceled with no return. The most you might see is buying out individual studios, and even then companies often get burned by that because key staff members will just leave and you're not really getting what you paid for. (see, Rare).

Nintendo is in a much better place than Sony for buying companies. And MS is probably going to take a wait and see approach until next generation. Yes they have unlimited backing and they finally turned a profit. But the 360 is the place to be for 3rd party games(for now). They are going to try and wring some money out of the 360 for a while.

Nintendo will buy some 3rd parties. Maybe they will even get Sega from Sammy.

Nintendo would not buy SE even if they can. The huge amount of money required would be better spent giving to Monolith SOft and others to develop a stable of in house RPGs and further creating Wii through development(WiiFit etc.) If they succeed this generation with hardware the software will come.

Smaller companies could be an asset to Nintendo in diversification. I predict a few PC developers to bolster Wiiware.

Sony will buy a few companies and exclusives to try and stop the drowning ship. Anything MS buys will be for the 720 and their plans for that.
