I cannot wait until the VGAs. The Reach video should be EPIC!!!!

I posted this in the main thread about MW2 sales numbers. I personnaly believe that Halo Reach will outsell MW2 on Xbox easily. Several things to factor. Halo 3 sold 3.8 million copies with an install base of 11.7 million (attach rate of 32.5%). MW2 sells (maybe) 5.5 million copies on an install base of ~33 million (attach rate of 16.67%). In the absolute worst case scenario, if Reach has the same attach ratio, the user base will be 7-9 million more, thus final numbers will be in the 6.5 million range.

I don't think the attach rate will be the same as Halo 3.  Granted, the install base will be larger, but those 7-9 million may not represent all new XBox owners.  A lot of those could be old XBox owners replacing their broken 360's with new ones, especially since for 1st generation 360 owners, the 3 year warranty has since expired.  I myself have already gone through 2 360's, as have a handful of my friends.  So it's not like I'm going to buy 2 copies of Halo Reach just because I own 2 360's.

I think it would be very difficult for a non-true sequel to outsell Halo 3. Halo: ODST came well short. So right there you know that not all Halo 3 diehards are interested in spinoffs. If Bungie makes Halo 4, then I think it will outsell Halo 3.

i don't know about you guys but i think mw2 is similar to halo 3 in that after their launches the series is starting to get stale. both series now is due for a reboot.

do anyone else feel this way, especially about the mw2 single player? i think the constant stream of respawn points for the enemies is sorely lacking now. Not to mention the story almost feel like a mess.

as for reach, if things go well, this spinoff might be enough to keep fans happy until a real numbered sequel of the halo franchise gets released.

What is Reach bringing to the table, besides being like ODST, and just another campaign? Is it going to be massive online play, with lots of players like MAG, or will it have RPG-type elements like Modern Warfare?

I find it hard to speculate on what a game will do saleswise, just because of the name. Look at Halo Wars, for example. It did good FOR AN RTS ON A CONSOLE. But as a title under the Halo brand, it was not great.

Is the VGA video going to be shown exclusively for the attendees? Or will it be on the net shortly after?

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

^^The videos are usually on Live shortly after they are revealed on television. Probably will appear on Waypoint shortly afterwards.
