Forums - Gaming - What if Microsoft bought out Square Enix???

Don't the Japanese and American government have to approve purchases like this? I seriously doubt it would EVER happen. The best that can happen is MS will keep paying to publish SE titles.

I don't think SE is big enough for it to be an anti-trust matter.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

The MS exec in charge of the deal would be fired for incompetence
His boss would be fired for preventing this from occuring

Repeat until you reach someone who has blackmail material on many of the board of directors.

If SE stopped making games for the DS, it would go bankrupt very quickly
