Now that the 80 gig is $500 is the 60 now $400?

I saw a bunch of them at a job interview at circuit city today and I was wondering if they were cut by another $100 as well? I may have to pick up a PS3 60 gig if its only $400, I can't imagine they would have two differant systems at the same price point, but I need clarification.

I don't think Sony has set a price. I have seen a bunch of deals where you get a free game or get it at $450 or both. If I was going to get a PS3 in the next 6 months that is the one I would nab.

I think the 60GB will be the same price as the 40GB until it sells out.

I posted this before and no one responded. The 60 gig at $400 would be awesome. I am suprised how many are left in stores, I thought they would dry up in August.

check ur local stores i saw them at 400buck quite a few time.............

i think it'll be up to the different stores to liquidate their stock with deals like some of you've seen.

the 60gb is same prize as the 80gb, only some stores offer them for like 20$ less to get them sold. so 499, the 40gb is 399

I believe to Sony the 60 gig is officially done, so they have no MSRP to guide stores with. It's up to them to liquidate their stock at whatever price they can. Surely they've already paid Sony whatever the cost was when it was retailing for $499, so they'll want to recoup as much of that cost as they can. Hence why some stores are offering a free game with it, but price and/or bundles will vary from store to store I'd imagine.
