Ok I want to first say that I do NOT want to start a flamewar. I'm just taking something I have noticed while working at gamestop and wanted to know if anyone could explain it. As of yesterday 10/24/07, on gamestops list of new releases for the psp for the rest of this year, there is a total of 16 titles. By comparison the DS has 62 titles coming out this year. The current PSP library is approx 323 titles so far and the DS library is approx 398, so its not like the PSP has a bigger library so it can take it easy this christmas. Now to be fair a good amount of the games that are coming out for the PSP are good games like, Manhunt 2, WWE, SOCOM, MOH Heroes 2, Elder Scrolls, etc. While the DS has good games but also a lot of crap games. But from my experiance, Sony has always been about quantity of games. Even the PS2 has a larger christmas line up. Now of course there are games coming out this year that gamestop just doesnt have listed yet, but 16 titles is not many games at all. Also, the good games coming out arent original PSP content, its all ports, WWE, MOH, Elder Scrolls, Manhunt 2, Golden Compass. It seems like that with the slim version out they would want to really push the PSP this holiday to try and jump start the PSP train and become competitive.
So, has Sony started to give up? Are they taking the PSP in the direction of more of a PS3 accessory?
comments?
