Forums - Gaming - Valve disses PS3 and PC community in one swoop

Valve is either a lazy company or has been given a lot of money from Microsoft. Stating the PS3 can't pull a community together is ignorant. I don't know how many people remember, but at E3 2009, Microsoft stated they had the largest single online community of 18 million users on X-Box Live. Sony made a small side note in their presentation a few hours later stating the PlayStation Network had 24 million users. True, PSN is going to have more duplicate accounts than XBL, however given the fact that the PSN is free, it is reasonable to believe they would be close to the same size with the PSN growing faster.

I have moved and do not have the internet at home, yet.

Around the Network

Maybe things have changed, but doesn't MS give online game companies a portion of the XBL services fees? If that's the case isn't L4D a major online game which would bring in money?

If that's the case and I could be wrong. Doesn't that mean the community in question for the console is one that pays? As for PC they have to deal with Steam.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

The moment you realize that Valve doesn't want to develop for the PS3, and not worry why, the sooner you can move on with your life. Let it go. Valve hates PS3 and its owners. Think of them as a fanboy and get on with your life. Other people have to.

Already a thread on it and what he said was taken outta context.

In context the statement is true on both counts.
