stage stop trolling there are plenty of people still interested in JRPG's they are just are using PS3/WII, which is why you never see huge sales for JRPG's on the xbox, because they are interested in other things.

Name some PS3 JRPGs that have done better than LO, Star Ocean and TOV. Thought so.

Hope for ms sake that it will sell something considering the massive amount they payed Square for having the game on xbox.

How much did they pay. Have  a link? Plus whatever they paid it was worth it. Look at their acquisition of GTA, Assassins Creed. Plus their profitting so alls well

First this is a American sales thread. Second I am talking about JRPGSs. Ur right about TOV. So why are using only japan??? dont understand the point of that. Ur post show that FF13 american sales for the 360 will be close. Please try to carefully read the 15-20 words i wrote before trying to argue against it.

It's not unusual for games to experience a great price drop after a year. Even if they sell well. Gears of War 2 was on sale for freaking $20 last month. What a steal. I'm a bargain hunter so I know what I'm talking about. I mostly buy games after price drops or when it's on sale. I look out for price drops like a hawk. If a game is unlikely to get a price drop or if I'm just super-hyped for it (which is rare. I rarely get super hyped for games. A fun game is a fun game to me), I'll buy games at full price. But most games don't fit in that category.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

I think the 360 sales are going to surprise people. Really. This is America we're talking about. I wouldn't rule out the 360 - especially if the 360 version is on par (no real faults), and Microsoft markets a ton. If it turns out well, I'll be picking it up for the 360 myself.

Tekken is a cherry-picked example. Few people care about that series here. In America, the more mainstream fighting series are Street Fighter, Soul Calibur, or Mortal Kombat, and the 360 has shown better sales in all cases.

Once again, this is about the mainstream. Do not equate Final Fantasy fans with JRPG fans, because that isn't the case. As Kasz has said, Final Fantasy is nothing like normal JRPG's, so the JRPG sales comparisons don't tell us much (not that we have any good comparisons anyway).

It's too early to call, but again, as long as there's no problems with the 360 version, it should not be underestimated. Microsoft will market it, and people will buy it. Don't forget that the 360 version of Resident Evil 5 crushed the PS3's.

The PS3 version of FF13 will blow the 360 out the water.

Since the xbox 360 has a 100% userbase advantage over the PS3 in North America, you would think games like soul calibur 4, mortal kombat and Street Fighter would have similar advantages overthe PS3, but that's not the case

Once again, its all about the mainstream. Final fantasy is as mainstream as a genre can get with successfully sales across the nintendo and playstation family for over 20 years. As Kasz has said, Final Fantasy is nothing like a normal JRPG, its considered the best so sales trends tell us alot.

Dont forget that the PS3 version of Resident Evil is higher than that of the xbox 360.

...?

Were you trying to parody my post, somehow? It ended up making little sense.

Reread the thread title. We're talking about America.

I was just pointing out how much of a troll post your truly was.  Especially the bolded part.  I play fighting game tourneys and mortal kombat and soul calibur are on the bottom rung of them, SSB, select street fighter and Tekken are for more popular.  Tekken as a series has sold 10 million in NA, I dont see how soo many people who bought the game would not care for it, considering it sold more than Soul Calibur but Soul calibur is more mainstream.  Ok.

Continue on with your trolling
