Do a bit of research before you post a thread like this and you might improve your credibility. I'm sure you were quite excited to think you could claim that PS3 is struggling against GC sales. Unfortunately you are now officially wrong. This http://vgchartz.com/hwlaunch.php?cons1=GC®1=Japan&cons2=PS3®2=Japan&cons3=N64®3=Japan&weeks=180 shows that PS3 is now well clear of the GC. This graph also shows that come the end of this holidays PS3 is likely to move above the N64 sales since launch curve. So to claim there is a struggle against the sales of these consoles is only an historical truth for the GC and soon will be for the N64. It now remains to be seen whether it can reach the Saturn, which it has a 2 million gap to make up. Provided PS3 sells in Japan for at least another 2 years it should move ahead of the Saturn by a reasonable margin.
So by your own post the PS3 will be "somewhat of a hit". Only really against it's own direct predecessors is PS3 sales any kind of disappointment.
Profitability on the other hand is an absolute disappointment, because from a hardware perspective PS3 will make a net loss over the whole generation, which will be a first for Sony, and if they're smart about it should be a last.
