Oh you are so wrong fishy; Kotaku and associated comments seems to think the Game unit is doing splendidly. ;)
In a nutshell, could you do a better job posting the info/news.
Revenue/netincome by each division. From - to, the dates the numbers are for.
Hardware:
PS3 - 1.31 million
WTF ^ does it mean.
yeah i was suprised how kotaku spinned it. i mean they did point out a fact...but failed to point out the red...
also, they comment on the report/kotaku...then sony have changed their "shipped" units to "sale" of units but is this any different from "sales" to retailers?
i did not believe the companies could track the retailer sales?
I'd buy a Cybershot if it used SD. Now I'm leaning towards a Powershot instead.

It all pertains to the second quarter July 1st to September 30th of this year:
sony got 1.31 PS3s out on the market.
electronics: +930 million
game: -841 million
pictures: +23 million
financial services: +201 million
all other: +94 million
those are all "operating income"
which means:
operating income= gross income - operating expenses - deprectiation
(also US dollars)
Net income - $641 million
So this is profits ? for the entire Sony corp from July 1st to September 30th

For the quarter! That's around a $3 billion loss per year.
Wow, PS3 might easily eclipse the $4 billion total lost by the first XBox.
