Forums - Gaming - Out of these five, which is the most insane way to heal in a video game?

Don't forget the defibrilators in BF2 and perhaps other games - you'd be shot to pieces but for the duration of 10 seconds you can be completely healed by a jolt of electricity. But if you die from an explosion then the paddles wouldn't be any good so at least that was realistic...

Max Payne's painkillers were also dumb to some extend. I can understand that you stop limping when taking painkillers but wouldn't you bleed out at some point?

And don't forget finding heart-items all over the level and in grass. Who leaves a heart there anyway?!

There are only a few games I think where the ehaling makes sense. Mostly when it is not so much a health-bar but rather energy. Someone mentioned the Halo-shields but you can encounter the same thing with Samus' suit, Jet Force Gemini etc. where energy replenishes a shield.

I also liked the Goldeneye/Perfect dark style. You cannot replenish health but you have an additional bar which represents body-armor.

Any future game with health (like Fallout 3's Stim packs) could make sense but only because we have no current equivalent to compare.
