Gamespot is widely know to consist of frothing lunatics. My personal favorites are how they described some newish game as "like Deus Ex, except fun", and gave Silent Hill 2 a score of under 7.

Sorry but an R&C game can't suck

Gamespot does this with some high profile releases to get hits, they used to only do it with Nintendo games but now they are doing it with more.

R&C is a great game but I don't think it deserves all the mid-90's either. It is my favorite game for PS3 (haven't finished it yet). I would probably give it 8.7-9 by the time I am done, it does seem a tad easy but I wouldn't be able to beat it if it were harder. :P

If it weren't for these low GS reviews we would have had too many games show up in the gamerankings in the last 12 months.
