Forums - Sony - Top 100 PS3 games

Playstation Lifestyle has a top 100 PS3 games list (in alphabetical order).

http://playstationlifestyle.net/2009/11/04/the-top-100-ps3-games/

Out of the 100 games I’ve played the full retail release of 56 of them.

Still waiting to play 6 of them: Assassins Creed 2, Borderlands, Brutal Legend, Demon’s Souls, Dragon Age Origins, and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.

62 out of 100 ain’t bad. If I included demos I’d have played 80 out of the 100 games.

as far as i can see, every "good" game is in that list. well done.

(And if you want to play demon's Souls, buy it! :P its well spent money.)

I'm a Foreigner, and as such, i am grateful for everyone pointing out any mistakes in my english posted above - only this way i'll be able to improve. thank you!

I didn't know PS3 had 100 games.

Which games were left out?

I've played 62 of the games. Pretty good list overall.

Just for fun, here's a rough breakdown of the game genres:

Shooter: 25
Action/Adventure: 17
RPG: 11
Sports: 11
Racing: 10
Platformer: 7
Fighting: 5
Music/Rhythm: 4
Strategy/Tower Defense: 4
Arcade: 2
Puzzle: 2
Other/Unclassifiable: 2

A full one-quarter of the listed games are some sort of shooter.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

That's great.

OT: Isn't a bit early for a top 100 list? Are there enough games?

Thanks for the break down of genres. Interesting that a full quarter of the top 100 are shooters.

I remember when Playstation 1 didn't have a single FPS shooter. I can't think of any, there might have been a couple attempts...

PS2 finally brought FPS to consoles with Timesplitters 1. That was the first console FPS I every played. Before that I only played them on PC.

And now PS3 seems to be heavily shooter based, no doubt because shooters have become the most popular genre (see: Call of Duty pre-orders).

I would like to see more RPGs myself. Thats mainly what I played on PS1.
