please, MS hard drives are easily twice the price of a ps2, and do not offer the same experience of the ps2.

Why don't you respond to the rest of my post before I just write the same thing again. Don't expect a company to cannibalize itself when it doesn't have to.

Face it, sony is still losing money on ps3s. If there was bc on the ps3, not only would they nearly kill the ps2s sales, but they would lose more money on ps3s when they are already poised to make a huge comeback while reinforced by the most purchased system of all time.

tsk i dont know...  I think i rather just sit down and play with a 360 HDD than a PS2 lol

Hey, I'm not saying one experience is better than the other. They are just different.

You can use an HDD for a lot of things. You can drop them off balconies, use them as a shoe, make a futuristic looking costume, or even perform defrags..

Let me get this straight, he owns a 360, DOES NOT OWN A PS3, and he's bashing the PS3. BAN TIME!

Let me get this straight, you don't read the whole thread, then freak out? I'm not bashing the PS3. This is starting to get annoying -.- people misunderstand because they are too lazy/busy to read. Why post if you don't read the whole thread?

I do 'trust' Sony, but I don't think I am going to ever buy their console. 'Trust' because their electronics are actually quite good, but 'trust' also because after all Sony is just another company that tries to get our money one way or another.

I'm not sure that's the right reason though, even if I understand. I mean, aren't all companies like that?

i trust sony. why? i have been very unlucky with a lot of technology. it either breaks, doesnt do what it was intended to or doesnt live up to what it was intended to do. i have never had this problem with a product from sony and the ps3 is starting to do everything they told us it would do. they always appear to offer the best technology that is normally worth its money but to costly for me. for example i want the satio from sony ericson. for the technology thats in it, it is good value but i cant afford it at the moment, same as when the ps3 was released.

yeah i have skipped a couple of pages so yeah lazy but im going to say anyway.

the ps3 failure rate isnt exactly that high its just been attacked lately as a result of the bbc watchdog's unfair and bias report. as for the firmware sony dont normally make them mistakes and if it is there fault yeah they should be replacing it no questions asked.

oh and as for the bit about making money sony have run up a $6.5 billion debt sense realeasing the ps3.  to me they are more about inovation than making money

Alot of trolling going on in this thread, so im just gonna say i highly doubt that Sony wouldnt take care of there consoles.

Lolz that's just preposterous. In very few cases has an update screwed up somebodys system. That 360 fanboy propaganda.

This is certainly possible, but isn't the opposite also possible? It could be truth that the update caused problems and it's PS3 fanboy propaganda trying to stop the spread? I don't know either way, but just the existence of the rumor, and Sony's alledged response to it casts a shadow over the whole thing.

It's just human nature, if you hear a lot of bad things about your friend, who you think is a good person, you start to wonder 'do I really know this person? Is any of this true?' even if you don't mean to think about it. Not all people act/react like this, but many do. Especially when you're in this situation, and it turns out the rumors were right -.-

It could be true, I'm really just speaking for myself. I've never had a problem with my PS3. I've had 6 Sony consoles (including PSP) and only 1 has ever broken and that was my first Playstation which was after like 3 years.

I'd say trust Sony but I can't force it on you.

Listen kid, I say this because you're obviously one: I read the original post. That is all that is necessary for me to deduce your bias. Now why don't you keep your childish thoughts to yourself.

@dsgrue3
Please, lose that attitude -_-

@r505Matt
I can see why some people see your thread as flamebait by reading the OP only (does NOT make it ok to troll the thread though) but after reading your comments it doesn't seem your an evil person at all ;)
Actually, I'm a little concerned about the PS3 update failures my self and would be glad to have some information about it. As long as I have a valid warranty will Sony always fix the console for free after it has broken due to an update failure? Can it happen because your download connection dies during updating?
