Before you come here bashing, or flaming, or whatever it's called, make sure you do some thinking, it might do you some good.

This is pretty self-righteous for someone who took all of something like 5 posts in these forums before calling another member a blind fanboy.

Before you come here trolling (that's what your original post is called), make sure you do some thinking.  It might do you some good.

Why is it i never have any of those updates issues, what the hell do some of you download on to the hdd to mess it up so badly.

OP If you are out of warranty you pay, simple fact in life. I got to pay $1000 for a new clutch, Toyota sure as hell wont pay that for me.

MS did not own up to anything, they never said what exactly was wrong and how they fixed it, and its still an issue.

Toyota didn't force you to either 1) not know how to switch gears 2) pop the clutch and burn out 3) mistreat the clutch.

Sony is forcing these people to update to the newest firmware so your example really falls flat.

@ the OP.  I have found a few things out about this forum that most people feel are true if you are slightly anti PS3 or pro xbox 360.  Here they are:

1) You are an Idiot, a moron, a jackass, or a fool (or all of the above).

2) You live under a bridge.

3) Your always wrong.

4) I could go on.....

Perception is just as important as reality in making judgements.

Out of this entire thread, I just had to point out the stupidest statement I've ever heard. Making judgements based off of perception is something a total idiot does, because you lack the facts and therefore lack the ability to come to a logical conclusion.

And you show your extremely limited intelligence by saying this. How do you 'know facts'? Do they just pop up in your head? Because if so, that's pretty incredible. Last I checked, most normal people learn through reading, or hearing, or some other form of perception. Further, different people can read or hear the same 'facts' and perceive them differently. And judgements aren't always about facts, or even logic. Before you come here bashing, or flaming, or whatever it's called, make sure you do some thinking, it might do you some good.

Perception in the absence of facts is a viable argument, but perception is never as important as reality. A perceived truth is not the same as an actual truth. Also, judgements must be based on logic and facts if you are going to create a convincing argument for them. How you interpret the facts is a perception of the reality, which is entirely different from perception itself.

Also, I am not bashing you, I am bashing your argument. Perception leads to stereotypes, and stereotypes are most often used when there's an absence of knowledge.

The way you said it was pretty insulting -.- so sorry if i reacted mildly angrily.

Back to it though, I don't believe a human can know anything beyond perceived truths. Logic, facts, there's no way to know whats true, only what we perceive to be true. Information at a later time can completly disprove what we take as fact. It used to be an established 'fact' that the best way to treat injuries and diseases was to bleed the victim. That was a fact for them as much as hygiene was the main way to spread contagion.

"How you interpret the facts is a perception of the reality, which is entirely different from perception itself" I don't think this is the case, I think that is exactly what perception is.

I guess what I'm getting at is that we have no clue what could even possibly be reality without perception, and we have no way of disassociating the two, but some people like to forget about perception and just focus on their own version of reality.

Just because you believe/think of something as fact, doesn't mean its true.

No, this is more akin to a company coming to your house and lining your gas tank with a special blend to help with better fuel consumption and then you complain that the clutch is broken.

Um, I'm not actually talking about the PS3 or Xbox360, just the companies behind them. I think as a system PS3 is better, but that doesn't always make for a better gaming experience (just look at how fun the wii is). This is not an XBOX 360 > PS3 thread.

I can agree with that, for the most part, although I believe retrospect establishes the difference between a perceived truth and an actual truth.

Currently playing: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, NBA2k11, Metal Gear Solid, Picross 3d

Yeah, it can, but who knows how far that could go? Maybe sometime in the distant future, 'true truth' can be established which will in retrospect establish that difference. Unfortunately, we probably won't be around for that.

u would pay 400/500 (launch price) for what was soon to be revealed as the most defective system ever and microsoft released it regardless? and u dont trust sony for 1 or 2 mistakes O_o...... ok

I paid 250 for my console, and if you've followed this whole thread, you'd realize I don't totally believe in my original post anymore =P

please, MS hard drives are easily twice the price of a ps2, and do not offer the same experience of the ps2.

Why don't you respond to the rest of my post before I just write the same thing again. Don't expect a company to cannibalize itself when it doesn't have to.

Face it, sony is still losing money on ps3s. If there was bc on the ps3, not only would they nearly kill the ps2s sales, but they would lose more money on ps3s when they are already poised to make a huge comeback while reinforced by the most purchased system of all time.

tsk i dont know...  I think i rather just sit down and play with a 360 HDD than a PS2 lol
