True, they aren't the best comparisons. I appreciate many art styles including things like mario kart and viva pinata. I was trying to say that games on the 360 in SD, regardless of art style are going to exceed those of the Wii on an SD TV. Why is this? bump mapping, more polygons, higher resolution textures, and overall just more powerful hardware.
I would also add that I noticed a rather significant increase in quality when switching to component on my 360 versus standard video. I'm assuming the same holds true for the Wii but I don't have a component cable for it so I can't say for sure.
This isn't a knock on the Wii. I bought it knowing it wasn't graphically as strong but instead bought it for the controller (quite cool indeed) and for Nintendo's KNOWN first party IP as well as their tendency to have a much larger family game library...
