He broke the seal, so now they can say that he broke the console himself by opening it up and they will refuse to repair it due to tampering.

SONY wont repair it if the seal is broken...at least thats wats the guy said to me when mine, and not to mention you cant tamper with the machine either

The seal has nothing to do the Warrenty either..they dont ask about the seal when questioning the Warrenty

lol ya, the guy said if there was an upgraded HDD they would outright replace it though, meaning if i had my 320 in there while shipped they'd not like that very much and get rid of it and give me a old model 80gb or something.

but i left the normal 80gb in there so hopfully they dont bitch over that small tid-bit.

lawl.. they sure make money in stealing and replacement of games and HDDs lol. :D
btw: Sony exchanges every PS3, even with broken Seals - for the right amount of money.
