Forums - Sony - My PS3 just got the YLOD...

If you decide to send it to Sony, they will send the disc back. You just need to make them aware of it. Other than the money, the process was quick and painless. Mine took 15 days total.

I got the YLOD the inside of my PS3 was caked with dust. If you notice your fans going on more frequently and your warrenty is up I suggest opening it up to blow out all the dust. You can save yourself YLOD.

Either Pay Sony? Or save for a Slim and it sucks ass that you cant get your saved games back.

Wish Sony would of built a more reliable system...

You still got a 360 right? and was your PS3 a 60 gig B/C??

Jees Garnett you sure know how to be a ass, why even bother??

@ OT sorry that your ps3 died dude

A more reliable system? You mean more reliable than the 360 with an over 33% failure rate? And over 50% failure rate at launch? I am not hating on the 360, I want one. But seriously, stealth troll much. PS3 is by far more reliable than the 360, his hard-drive, which is where everything is saved, is not dead because of YLOD.

@OT - Dude, that really sucks. :( Hope u fix it soon.

Your doing the same thing you claim he is doing?  Your #'s for the RROD are fictitious. Sigh...........

The 50% number isn't fictitious it's base on a Game Informer poll.

I got my numbers from polls held my gaming magazines. o_O; RROD was a widely seen phenomenon which MS had to set millions aside for just to correct and keep costumers happy. BTW, the numbers I posted were numbers other VGC members posted (and yes, they all had links in their threads). Also, Sony's failure rate began to climb when they released the 60 GB and 80 GB models with backwards compatibility, since they failed a lot more often than non-backwards compatibility models.

Lets not turn this into an rrod thread guys, lets keep it cool.

I never once said the 360 was very reliable. MS fixed the RROD, Sony does not, you have to pay Sony. Dont hate the player hate the console maker!

And i feel bad for him, hes my friend, not IRL but we are fucking  cool, :D

And how was i being an ass, he paid $600 (or did you get the lower model one?) you think it would be able to last more than a few years.

But no problem, all he has to do is take the HDD out and put it in a slim, but there is a loss of B/C, But who plays PS2 games anymore? This gens almost over.

You're right. Sorry, my bad. It's just that fanboys get me a bit worked up, especially when it's the same one over and over again.

I hope you mean that it is included in warranty, because if you seriously mean RROD is gone from MS consoles... I just giggled.
