Forums - Gaming - The CORE gamer crap... must...STOP...

I'm here today to ask you guys of what is a CORE gamer...

I here heard is that there gamers who are freakin close minded that only play games that have two genres ...(mostly fps but not all)

I am here to say LETS BOYCOTT THIS  so called (HARDCORE) sorry I hate that word...

So please tell what you think of this and why not we boycott this... that word puts me to shame as a gamer...

also I made this because I saw the HC word about 20 times and made me made this thread

Thoughts anyone?

Yeah there's been too many FPS's this gen, but if anything there's been WAY too many shit casual games this gen also, the largest portion being on the Wii. I mean, Daisy Fuentes Pilates? I'd boycott that over uber-hardcore anyday.

I think the hardcore term is the worst thing ever created ever.

Hmmm I'd too... isn't that just to get a quick buck or something?

I mean almost every company does this once a while... Maybe I just had a weird day seeing debates of the core argument...

but yes the shovelware must stop to... but I wonder when :/

And well, if you think about it, the shovelware ties into the hardcore argument. The mass amount of shovelware isn't meant to appeal to traditional video gaming crowds, but seems to have taken the forefront of gaming this gen, which in turn has led to bitterness from more serious gamers, and thus we have this increased polarity.

And just so we're clear on my stance, I consider Wii Sports and Wii Fit borderline shovelware. They're decently fun at first, but their only appeal comes from gimicky controls that just doesn't last. Plus, there's really not that much depth... At best, I consider Wii Sports is a tech demo.

(puts on shameless self-promotion hat)

I believe i have somewhat of a solution, that we can classify the hardcore gamer without making them sound "better" and classify the casual without demeaning them.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Last gen these "Hardcore" games were called Mainstream games and were being blamed for ruining the industry and now this gen people call "casual" games ruining the industry.
People are just morons who want to bitch and moan just for the sake of doing so.
They also keep putting out labels so they have some feel of belonging and importance so they can look down on another labled class of games/gamers. it's all BS.

Just play the games you like and forget the nonsense.

Sorry but core "hardcore" and "casual" is the only well to explain these diff gamers

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

^ please tell me your joking

Well I don't know if casual and hardcore explain different gamers, but it does explain different games. I think most people play a mix of casual and hardcore games.

And really, the problem isn't even casual games. I'd consider something like Super Paper Mario or Mario Kart Wii casual, and that's fine. But when you get into the excess of aforementioned shovelware this generation compared to the previous generations, that's where the problem is. Of course, there's also the Wii Fit love affair, but that's another story all together involving many middle aged women I know.
