While this may seem a lofty chore to some, the abundance of downloads in the online PlayStation Store means that relief is, at best, a matter of deleting an old demo or two, and at worst, the task of downloading of a few additional files.

Hmmm so first they remove backwards compatibility to ensure owners buy PS3 games and now a "glitch" requires you to download more online content in order to play R&C, how strange.

I don't get it =/. You are saying now this is Sony's fault that there is a glitch in the R&C game?

No, he's saying it's Sony fault, AND why they did it.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

This only effects the US version of the game.

Insomniac employee says the Japan and EU versions are fine.

"Hey guys, want to clarify this a bit. We found a bug on the final US disc that's pretty rare, but detects a full HDD at certain intervals of free space. If you get this message, just delete or add roughly 500mb and it should work. The issue was corrected on the Japan and EU discs. To be clear - this is only during the initial install phase, so it's a one-time thing. Once you've played the game, you won't have to worry about it."

just release a patch for it, that's the way of gaming this generation.

Wait. Since when is a bug that is "halts game" considered "minor"?

Weird bug, nonetheless.

That wouldn't help the people who will be most affected by this problem (due to the proposed workaround) - the people who don't have internet access.

Since that employee's account talks about "certain intervals", and if inside those 500 MB intervals the problem happens for all amounts, the %s I mentioned above will double or triple, or ...

AT LEAST EU get SOMETHING Better than the US versions.....lol

Now about the delay....

Xbox 360 - 15 Million

Playstation 3 - 8.5 Million

This is not a minor glitch. Console gaming is supposed to be easy and fun. This sounds like a problem you get on a PC, not a game console. As easy a fix as this is for many readers on this site, what about the thousands of people who are not computer literate? They buy a PS3, wrap it and put it under the tree with the new R&C game for their kids. Set it all up (and the PS3 is not exactly an easy set up - don't kid yourselves), put in the new game, and you get an error. Most people still do not connect their consoles to the Internet so an automatic update is not going to fix this. Now you have people phoning Sony customer service on Christmas morning asking WTF! What a wonderful Christmas memory. And let's not forget about the annoying sister-in-law telling your wife about how much fun her kids are having playing with their new Wii!

i love the (you wont be able to play this game) "minor" glitch

but after all we know the PS3 is not a gaming machine its a cancer curing super computer...or a hi-def video player--or the nex jesus to the sont defense force-----jk before i get flamed

@Zyzomys

Put a music CD in the PS3 and tell it to copy it. There you go. Glitch fixed. This is a glitch that has the cure on every audio cd ever sold. And once you do, no more glitch. Ever. It takes literally....one and a half minutes. Depending on how long it takes you to find a cd and put it in the PS3.

EDIT----Also, WTF are you talking about "not exactly an easy setup"? It sets up exactly the same as any other game console. Power cord, AV cord. If you can connect your VCR you can set up the PS3.
