Forums - Gaming - Dragon Age: Origins Which Console?

definitely on the PC for me, I've read that the "Baldur's gate view" won't be available on console version...

Not getting it. The Graphics look pretty bad. And the gameplay looks like an MMO without the O.

PC, I really want the extra viewing options available on the PC version.

since i don't own a xbox or ps3 - PC

...if i would own one of the hd consoles it would still be pc though ;)

Hard one ... Might have to go with 360 on this. Don't get me wrong I love my ps3 but mass effect 2 armor . Unless mass effect 2 comes to ps3 than I would get that version.

ps3 don't have xbox and prefer gaming on my ps3

360 for me, we'll be spending a lot of quality time together once exams are through.

So which console will you be playing DA:O on? Me personally I don't have a good PC and Im a little skeptical on how Bioware is going to do on a PS console. They usually have buggy games and they've never programmed on a Sony console before. So Im getting it for the 360, also the Mass Effect Armor is a plus.

false statement

False statement? I think the phrase you are looking for is "makes no sense whatsoever". How is it that on the one hand they have "buggy" games but on the other hand they have never programmed on a Sony console?

If they have never programmed on a Sony console (and it is a true statement if you narrow it down to PS3, and lets assume that was intended), then they can't have made buggy games on a Sony console (PS3). Therefore the buggy games they have made were made on Xbox and / or PC. How then does buggy games become a reason for avoiding the PS3 version? You think that this game will be buggy on PC and 360 but MORE buggy on PS3?

I don't know if anyone has done an analysis but the limited amount I've read about multiplat performance would seem to indicate that for the most part all console versions are equally buggy, or not buggy. There are often other elements that commend one console version over another, but I've never seen people say one is buggier than the other. Closest I think is the Orange Box, but most people just complain about loading times compared to 360, not bugs in how the game plays.

Anyway it's be between PC and PS3 for me. That will be partly decided by whether my nacent RPG online playing crew all get PS3s, but mostly by whether my PC is up to spec. If there is a playable demo on PSN I will definitely be trying it out to see whether the gameplay suits. If the camera placement and gameplay is similar to The Summoner on PS2 then it will work fine on console. I prefger my RPG cameras placement to be in the middle distance range to limit the amount of camera swining I need to do.

Oh how I long for the day when a game such as this can be played online with anyone on any system. I bet it is technically achievable right now.
