Forums - Gaming - Totally Unbiased 360/ Wii/ PS3 comparison thread

^^ Yes, this makes sense. I think an accidental 2nd download just overwrites the existing game files whereas the separately stored save file remains untouched.

Nah. I've accidentally downloaded the same thing twice (several times, actually). I end up with two copies of the same thing. This only happens with videos, though. Sometimes, they don't give you an "already downloaded bag". Strange, but true. I just delete the second one, though.

Never happened with a game. I'll try it someday.

Also, do USB controllers work on the 360?  It'd be nice if they did.

No they don't. PS3 is the only game console that supports USB pads. It's a feature you should definitely include in your OP.

It's funny because even though I activate the option of directly running games when I start my PS3, it does not work...
It actually never worked.
I always have to go on the NXE before playing a game. It's not a big problem but am I the only one?

I put it off because I think it is hellishly annoying, but I know it works on my mom's PS3. She tends to leave discs in it, so when you boot it up, it always goes into a game >_>

Oh, and it's 'XMB'

Oh yeah XMB lol

excellent thread

Whenever there is a comparison Halo should always be mentioned. ALWAYS!

Well ofcourse. A free game is always worth mentioning. But I'd prefer an actual game as opposed to some mini games.

One feature I wish was available on PS3 was the ability to have both HDMI and optical output enabled at the same time, gets rather annoying for me having to swap between the two in the settings menu.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you can now (since firmware 3.0).

Didn't see the option the other day but will check again, will be delighted if they've added the functionality.

Hm, wasn't this option added with the PS3 Slim, or does it indeed work with older PS3s as well with FW 3.0?

Of very minor note: Wii games can have animated images for the disc based games. Many don't, but that appears to be a decision made by the developers. Mario Kart Wii jumps out as one of the ones with an animated icon.
