Forums - Gaming - What do you want in next generation consoles?

Vashyo said:
- Free online play
- Good Variety of games and Innovation
- More powerful than current gen consoles
- Affordable price and no hidden fees I'd be willing to pay 300€ and I don't want to pay for extra for a harddrive, etc.
- A controller that fits in the hand and is good for any game, no need for motion controls.

You already have a PS3. I think that the PS3 has those points. The second in red may be arguable, but I also think that "the PS3 has no games" isn't valid, no more.

The last one (the last in the list, not the last in red) depends on how you like controllers.

So, you would like an expanded experience of what the PS3 already gives you, eh?

I want my next gen to not need to be plugged into the wall socket, i want it to produce electricity from by body heat, and from the kinetic energy from my moving the controller and from the heat it produces itself, but Natal doesn't need a controller you say, to compensate, it makes you jump all around the round for more body heat.

Oh, and what about a console powered by bodily gas?

(Damn!) That would need to be in the blueprint for the next next gen, and btw, you just got promoted to TOP ADVIS0RX!!

less power consumption, badass GPU, more memory, better capacity, and a lot cheaper.

Or badass Cell for graphics? Who knows.

Some people say that the PS3 was initially conceived to feature two Cells, one as the CPU, the other to process graphics. Maybe this time (the technology is less expensive)?

I have no desires for the consoles themselves, what I'd like to see are amazing, innovative new developing tools. Tools that allow even small (or tiny!) teams to bring out their ideas in a small time frame, on a small budget, and still make them look and play fantastically.

Put that way, it sounds utopian.
