More good JRPG's.

That is all.

We already have them.  On the DS.  And from here on out and into next generation, they are going to focus on handhelds.

Which is very unfortunate! as a man that comes from the PS2 JRPG age, I miss them being on a home console.

@baroque dude: what's funny about that?

I've been playing (J)RPGs since the NES era.  Its not a big deal where they are, handheld, console or PC.  You just go where the best games are.  No one source will ever have all the best games.

Eh, I do prefer JRPGs on the home consoles. It's not the graphics of the handhelds vs those of the home consoles, but I seriously dislike holding and using either psp or ds for a very long time... and JRPGs aren't exactly pick and play for 30 minutes games.

Well I don't exactly want to be a stickler on this, but I'm just saying that RPGs on handhelds (at least DS) are fine.  Heck, the DS kind of maked them better in some instances with the double screens.  But in terms of what you just brought up, I've played thousands of hours of RPGs, from Dragon Quest to Pokemon to you name it, and in many ways I can find advantages in playing handhelds over consoles.  The only thing I miss would be fancy graphics, but even this can be a disadvantage sometimes as we've seen with series like Pokemon and Final Fantasy vs their handhelds counterparts.

That he has enough with JRPGs... Not that funny, though.

If you like traditional JRPGs on home consoles, you need all 3 platforms:

You'll be able to play TONIGHT:

on Xbox 360:

  • Lost Odyssey (the best JRPG this gen, imo)
  • Tales of Vesperia
  • Blue Dragon
  • The Last Remnant
  • Magna Carta 2
  • Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope
  • Unfinite Undiscovery

on PS3:

  • Valkyria Chronicles
  • Disgaea 3
  • Demon's Souls (even if it hardly fits JRPG)

on Wii:

  • Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon
  • Dragon Quest Swords
  • Tales of Symphonia: DotNW
  • Final Fantasy Cristal Chronicles

My Gaming Setup

- Free online play
- Good Variety of games and Innovation
- More powerful than current gen consoles
- Affordable price and no hidden fees I'd be willing to pay 300€ and I don't want to pay extra for a harddrive, etc.
- A controller that fits in the hand and is good for any game, no need for motion controls.

I want my next gen to not need to be plugged into the wall socket, i want it to produce electricity from by body heat, and from the kinetic energy from my moving the controller and from the heat it produces itself, but Natal doesn't need a controller you say, to compensate, it makes you jump all around the round for more body heat.

Ok jokes aside, ok I'd like a self powered console for sure. For real though, I want better graphics and even more revolutionary controls ala mapping body motion for controls, instead having the limited input method of the game controller. Yeah motion controls (but better more accurate equipment), just sitting there only moving my fingers is so boring, I already sit in front of the computer all day, give me break! Of course some folks want to just sit and chill, as a compromise, we will be getting more waggle ...
