I'm still very mystified how people got the idea of the KH3 being on wii, since the two earlier once were on the ps2 doesn't that say something about KH3 being on the ps3? So far nintendo has gotten spin-offs and last gen games from sony.

This where am at PS consoles and most currently PSP gets the Story continuation games while NINTENDO just gets a spin off per installment

i compare it b/c it should be a wake up call to SE that core games(apart form mario, Zelda etc) do not sell on the Wii. ppl on the Wii mostly play party games and fitness games which makes up a vast majority of the audience. So putting a KH game on the Wii is probably not going to go over so well and i expect SE to complain about the sales of the game

tres, I thought you said SE wouldn't be giving the Wii support a long time ago before DQ X was announced and that FFCC: TCB would be moved to 360? :P

I wanna add in this quote too:

It was about going where the audience is and going somewhere where they?re going to accept a visual style that is more cartoony than people are used to seeing and where we don?t feel obliged to throw in every shader on the planet. ?Look at the normal maps and shaders.? We don?t have to do that kind of stuff. It?s the right platform for this project, for sure.?

Not like KH is super graphically intensive. It relies on its art style which is why it holds up even today IMO.

@Xxain

Because KH is a Disney owned franchise, and is more Disney focused than FF focused?

Edit: Comparing Dead Space to KH lmao.

Edit 2: Why do we care about a game at least 3 years away again?

Soriku...KH has always been more Disney focused...that didnt stop it from selling on PS2, I hope tryin to infer that KH is a casual focused series?..im alittle lost at ur point

Umm...the PS2 was the most successful system last gen and the most casual friendly so it should've been obvious it would've sold well on PS2?

@Vashyo

If you notice how much series have jumped around this gen (DQ, MH, etc.)...no.

KH is not casual franchise......does anybody consider KH casual???

They are two completely different games. You are comparing one IP that has never had a game on the Wii to one that has had a large amount of games.  Kingdom Hearts III would get Dead Space Extractions sales in the first ten minutes

I used to be firmly in the "KH3 will be for Wii" camp, because of the Wii's higher install base, the Wii's cheaper dev costs, Disney's liking for Nintendo, and the ability to pair the Wiimote with a Keyblade, but now I'm not so sure.

Outside of Guitar Hero and the Lego titles, most games sell better on ps3 than Wii, let alone ps3 and 360 combined. With Japanese devs seemingly returning to the ps3 more and more these days (Alterier Rorona, Ar Tonelico III, 3D Dot Game Heroes, etc.), and Square's heavy investment in ps3/360 development already, I'm beginning to think mutliplat ps3/360 is the more likely option for the series.

A KH3 on Wii would sell millions, to be sure, but it would probably sell a decent bit better on the ps3/360. The question is whether the disparity in dev costs would make a ps3/360 version worth it.

But then, DQX went to Wii. So who knows.

Much like Star Ocean 4 went to the 360, only to be released on the PS3 a year later. SE accepts moneyhats. I'm not saying DQX will be released elsewhere, but what really happened there was a moneyhat by Nintendo, and there's no doubt about that. The timing of the announcement, the total lack of information confirms it.

Plus PS3 is starting to get a lot of support from SE... FFXIII, FFvsXIII, FFXIV, Star Ocean 4, The Last Remnant (supposedly), Nier, Front Mission Evolved and with the acquisition of Eidos, the list will grow.
