Haha, I see that you just define games from their surface. There's no point in further argument.

Its got nothing to do with the surface so much as your refusal to admit you like playing a game targeted at children because it hurts your ego.

The game is just targeted at people who like Dinsey, I mean why else would they bother and use Dinsey characters when the stories have no need for it to be Disney characters?

Well I'll be happy as long as it is on the Wii or PS3, but I really hope it is on the PS3. There should be a KH 1/2/3 bluray disk .

@Kazs216

Hahaha it hurts my ego, seriously? Hey, I even play Pokemon from time to time, and one of my favourite movies of all time is Sleeping Beauty, even today I still see it.

And the game is just targeted to people who likes disney you say? Really? So anyone who is an RPG fan, and he's looking for a good RPG game won't even bother to pick up this game if he doesn't have a particular fondness for disney characters? Oh boy, how wrong are you. So I guess all the million players who played KH were only because they were disney fans too, exclusively

Do you not realize what "targeting" means.  People can like stuff that wasn't directly targeted at them.  RPG fans may like the game, but if you don't like Disney this game wasn't targeted at you.

It was targted at people who like Disney.  Go back and look at the commercial.  What in that commerical makes you think the game was targted to RPG fans?  Can you even tell the game is an RPG from the commercial?  Looks just like a regular old action game right?  Actually it doesn't even look like that.

The commercial doesn't even have any gameplay in it.  It could be a movie for all we know... since all it does is show like a couple dozen disney characters.

^I can't remember if any of the commercials showed Final Fantasy characters, if so then it is targeting that audience as well. And everyone knew it had FF characters anyway, if it was just a game with Disney characters and no FF characters then it wouldn't be targeting FF fans, but it did.

They show sepiroth for like... half a second.  That's pretty much it.  The most famous Final Fantasy charcter got less screen time then the Dragon from Mulan.

As for FF characters... there are about what... a dozen or so... vs a ridiculious number of Disney characters and worlds?

This just goes further to prove my point.

I never said that only gamers play KH. Even my GF has played KH. Yet, every non gamer that I know who has played KH has stated that the game is indeed hard and that is not user friendly when it comes to it's gameplay and learning curve.
So that's why to me, considering KH a casual game, that any one can pick, finish and learn in a flash, isn't quite right.
It's not hardcore too, but since both separations aren't black and white, I guess KH dips in a shade of grey. I just disliked the way he derogatoraly categorized the game, had he said it was casual only, I wouldn't disagree, then he added the rest.

Your the one who see's "Casual" as derogatory.

The games are made to target Casual people who like Disney.  Period.  You can not like it, but that's who their target audience is.

The game is meant for people who like Disney a lot... not a hardcore segment of RPG players.  I mean, why do you think they're DISNEY characters... and not say a collection of characters from many different RPGs?

The reason it did so well is because it was targeted towards casuals instead of your usual crossover RPG games.

oh really?? im a hardcore RPG fan and i love kingdom hearts o.O????

You can tell the game is an RPG because it has anime designs :P And plus it was Square who made it.

The game targets a lot of RPG fans but Disney fans too (I'm both so the game is awesome to me :P). If the game had none of the Disney characters I have a hard time believing it'd be as successful as it is now and would just be regarded as some FF spin off.

I'm pretty sure my cousin who got KH1 at around 6 got it because it had Disney characters as an example.

Still, in the end it's targeted at both cores and casuals. Disney movies have a large kid focus but older people can enjoy them too. Same with KH. It has the right amount of depth and complexity to appeal to an older group while a lot of themes and the Disney characters appeal to kids too. That's pretty much it.

The point is though, it was meant to sell to people who like Disney... not Final Fantasy or hardcore RPG fans.

Hence the great overabundence of Disney vs Final Fantasy.

Heck it's probably why Nomura got the job and they went ARPG on it.

I'm still very mystified how people got the idea of the KH3 being on wii, since the two earlier ones were on the ps2 doesn't that say something about KH3 being on the ps3? So far nintendo has only gotten spin-offs and last gen games from sony.

I didn't know Monster Hunter 3 was on PS3 and not Wii.  Chaos Theory is a beech.
