Forums - Sony - PS3 games with local co-op

Multiplayer these days seems to have made the shift to online. Not that this is a bad thing. But, are there any games (besides LBP) on the PS3 featuring local co-op or vs? I am looking to picking up some good games to play with my wife but can't find any :(

Does the first uncharted have local co-op? I know the second one doesn't.

exclusives or multiplat?

I know Borderlands has local co-op (split screen) and LAN.

Both will do, as long as they run on the PS3. Also could look into PS Store.

I think Unreal T3 has local co-op and LAN with split screen

I've been playing bomberman ultra from the ps store a lot recently, 4 player offline and online split screen.
also pixeljunk monsters has 2 player co-op which is heaps fun, building tactics! lol

basically all the games i have that are offline multiplayer are:
*Resistance 1/2 (online co-op)
*LBP!
*Pain
*Pixeljunk monsters
*Bomberman ultra
*Rag doll kung fu
*Wipeout HD
*Guitar hero

hmmmmm yeah now that i think about it there arent really any retail games that have good offline multiplayer. except LBP of course, i still play that every week when my mates come round.

Resistance 2 got split screen co-op, but you should play online with other guys, since it difficault to play R2 co-op with two people.

Trine, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 1, Fighting games
Ethornal Sonata alows second player to control one of the characters

Army Of Two - coop driven.

Here is a good source for tracking such games.

Play my LittleBigLove level: search keywords "LittleBigLove realil"

Add Motorstorm(:PR) to the list

Thanks for the link - seems co-op is taking a back seat this gen :(

Will have a look at the PSN games Llama mentioned.

Also waiting eagerly for Modnation racers!

Well there is also the casual stuff like Buzz and Singstar.

Do the Dynasty Warrior games have split screen co-op these days? I know they had local co-op on the PS2.

Off the top of my head, these are the games we play local multi-player with most frequently (although there are many more, like rhythm games and the like):

Bionic Commando: Rearmed (lots of fun with 4)
Comet Crash (crazy great - if you like tower defense - epecially with 4)
Everybody's Golf: World Tour (fun)
Eye of Judgement (great, if you like the game)
flOw (bit dull)
Hail to the Chimp (fun)
Lego Games (okay)
LittleBigPlanet (great)
Motorstorm: Pacific Ridge (great)
Noby Noby Boy (bit dull)
PixelJunk: Eden (okay)
PixelJunk: Monsters (okay, but lots of fun in the correct circumstances)
PixelJunk: Racers (okay)
Resistance 2 (fun)
SingStar (fun, if you like singing)
Soul Calibur (okay)
Super Stardust HD (fun)
Tekken (okay)
The Simpsons (bit dull)
Unreal Tournament 3 (great)
WipEout HD (great)
WWE Games (okay)
