Ok im willing to bet you that if he didnt have a gun his son would still be alive, its not that other things cant kill, its that other implements arent designed specifically to shoot someone.

I'm sorry but equating guns with knives it absolutely rediculous, people dont keep knives in their house to kill people that may burgle it, they keep it because theyre damn useful tools.

Who is equating knives with guns? How is the reason someone keeps a knife in their house relevant (I disagree by the by but that is off-topic). The man found time to make sure he had a gun and ammo when he went looking for his son. He wouldn't have stopped to grab a knife instead?

Because no other weapon would have been available to him? He couldn't have had a knife, pipe, rock, fist, car, or anything else and just gone nuts? Killing one person is not terribly difficult I am afraid. If he would reach for a gun something tells me the next logical choice in his mind would not be "non-lethal force." |
You are right, he could have stabbed him to death otherwise, I get your point, he is an utter piece of shit.

He may very well have, but what is more deadly, a gun or a knife? i can tell you which id prefer a drunk man to be handling.

it's not about a fair fight, it's about a kid getting away with his life. If the dad grabs a knife has got a chance to get away. You can't get rid of things like knives that have many important uses. Hand guns are used for killing, what other use do they have? How do you want to stop the murder? Get therapy for every drunk in town? There's isn't an easy answer.
currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

Sober enough to aim, sober enough to fight. One or two good stab wounds is all it would take. Which you would prefer is not relevant to what would have spared this family the greatest tragedy imaginable.

I don't think we can. We mourn for the mother, and the friends. We don't try to twist it to fit some political agenda it doesn't belong in.
